Welcome to my website. I obtained my Biodiversity PhD at the Herbivore Beetle Evolution Lab under the supervision of Jesús Gómez-Zurita and Anna Papadopoulou at the Institut de Biologia Evolutiva (CSIC-UPF) in Barcelona, Spain. I am very grateful to have participated in the study of herbivore beetles (Chrysomelidae) and their host-plants in the dry tropical forest of Nicaragua, using molecular tools. You can visit this website to see more of this project.
I have strong interest in tropical ecosystems, herbivore beetles, insect host-plant interactions, conservation biology and molecular ecology. I have applied a wide range of tools and phylogenetic approaches to address biodiversity questions. There are an astonish number of insect species awaiting to be discovered in the tropics. Participating in field expeditions and combining phylogenetic methods and bioinformatic tools, we can accelerate the cataloguing of species diversity.
